Workshop Proposals
Pre-Congress Workshop Submissions Are Now Closed
Pre-Congress Workshop proposal submissions for HUPO 2026 closed on Friday, February 27, 2026.
Workshops will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, the first day of the Congress, and are 1.5 hours in length. Proposals are currently under review by an international expert panel. As workshop space is limited, not all submissions may be accommodated.
Notification of acceptance or decline will be sent no later than March 27, 2026.
We thank all applicants for their submissions and interest in contributing to the HUPO 2026 program.
- Proposal Content and Format
Workshop proposals should include a one-page summary of the Workshop, including:
- Description of Workshop
- Statement regarding how the Workshop can benefit HUPO 2026 Congress attendees
- Three main objectives for the Workshop
- Submissions Should also Include the Following Information:
- Title of the Workshop
- Name and email of the contact person who will be responsible for Congress correspondence (If different from proposal submitter)
- Name of proposed Workshop speaker(s) with institutional affiliation and email address
- The intended audience for the Workshop
- Maximum number of attendees per Workshop (if applicable)
- Any special A/V needs or room set up requirements (if applicable)
- Length of Workshop (max. 1.5 hours)
Important Things
to Note Before Submitting a Proposal:
- If your Workshop proposal is accepted, the HUPO 2026 Congress will provide a room at the Congress venue with basic AV equipment (projector, screen, microphones).
- The Congress will not be able to provide any additional financial support for additional AV expenses, speaker support, or any other expenses.
- The Workshop will be listed in the program on the website, mobile app and in all official Congress materials, however, you are encouraged to personally invite people to attend the Workshop. Anyone attending the Workshop will have to be registered for the HUPO 2026 Congress.
- It will be the organizer’s responsibility to make all arrangements for the Workshop including speaker arrangements.
- The final agenda for inclusion in the onsite materials must be submitted to the Congress Secretariat no later than June 30, 2026.

Final Program Due for Onsite Materials
- Workshops will be reviewed by an international expert reviewer panel and selected based on:
- Quality of Workshop
- Diversity of speakers in alignment with HUPO’s Mission
- Minimum 20% of speakers from each region (Central, Eastern, Western)
- Minimum 40% female representation
- Engaging workshop format with interactive and educational elements, for example including the use of interactive engagement tools such as Mentimeter or Kahoot! for live polling and quizzing
- Potential alignment with HUPO Initiatives
